Spain Retires Its Final 707

The Spanish Air Force (Ejército del Aire or EdA) has retired its final Boeing 707-368C transport aircraft after 30 years of continuous operations.

The aircraft (47-03) made a farewell flypast of its base at Torrejón, flanked by two EdA EF-18 Hornets, then landed and taxied back to the ramp through a traditional water cannon salute from the base fire service.

The EdA operated four 707s, all of which were flown by 47 Grupo Mixto’s 471 Escuadrón at Torrejón.
