Air France subsidiary flying to French university city three times per week

Hamburg Airport celebrates a double premiere Hop! Air France is a new airline for Hamburg Airport. Since 29 October the Air France subsidiary has linked Hamburg with Nantes in France, operating three flights per week all year round. The inaugural flight on the route was officially celebrated today. Nantes is also a completely new destination for Hamburg’s timetable. There have never been scheduled services between the two cities before. Flights from Hamburg to the university city on the Loire will operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The service is being operated with 100-seat CRJ 1000 and 700 aircraft.

Air France service to this beautiful university city offers our passengers attractive new travel possibilities. I am certain that the route to Nantes will prove to be the beginning of a successful partnership.”

French commercial centre on the Loire
Nantes, capital of the French region of Pays de la Loire, ist around 50 kilometres from the Atlantic coast. It is the fifth-largest city in France and an important commercial centre in conjunction with nearby Saint Nazaire, the country’s fourth-largest port. Nantes is also a university city buzzing with a youthful population, and a modern metroplis with numerous sights. The most popular tourist attractions include the famous Château des ducs de Bretagne (English: Castle of the Dukes of Brittany), the Machines de I’île (Machines of the Isle of Nantes) — an artistic project with huge, moving mechanical animals — and the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul de Nantes (Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul).

Nantes is also ideally connected to other French destinations such as Lille, Saint Nazaire, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier and Toulouse.
