Tragedy struck on Saturday, August 4 when Junkers Ju 52 HB-HOT, operated by JU-Air, crashed in mountainous terrain in eastern Switzerland.  The accident claimed the lives of the 17 passengers on board, plus those of the three-person crew.  JU-Air – which has three other Junkers Ju 52s – has suspended its flight operations until further notice.
