EXCLUSIVE: RAF Coningsby Information

Rumours have been circulating for some time that work was due to take place this year on RAF Coningsby’s runway and that its resident squadrons would temporary relocate to other RAF bases while the work took place. Aviation News approached RAF Coningsby to find out the plan for the runway work and received a statement saying: “The runway at RAF Coningsby is due for refurbishment later this year. The works will be conducted overnight with sufficient runway available to launch QRA aircraft should they be required to. During the working day the airfield will operate as normal. The runway works are anticipated to commence at the end of July and will last for approximately 3 months.”
