To mark the retirement of the Short Tucano T1 from RAF service at the end of this month, a formation flight of four of the turboprop trainers will make a tour over sites associated with the type in Wales, Northern Ireland, and northern England tomorrow, October 16.

According to the media and communications office at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, the formation will leave the Yorkshire base at 1015 local time, and overfly Belfast at 1100 before landing at RAF Valley around 1130. The Tucanos will depart Valley at 1445, and pass over RAF Woodvale at 1530, BAE Systems’ Warton site at 1537 and Blackpool Airport at 1539 before returning to Linton-on-Ouse at 1600.

A second tour is planned for Thursday 17, details of which will be published when Aviation News has them.
